Our Sauces

Every organization has a Lost Sauce. The thing that makes their mission irreplaceable rather than interchangeable. Our job is to find it. These are the forms that work tends to take.

Immersive Experiences

Don’t just tell the story, invite your visitors into it.

The hardest part of an immersive experience isn't building it. It's justifying it. To your board, your donors, and whoever manages the maintenance budget. We design for that conversation from day one. The difference between a display and an experience isn't the technology. It's whether visitors are still describing it on the drive home. That might be nature at Magic School Bus scale, or projection-mapped environments that put visitors inside the story rather than in front of it.

Our creation for Mystic Ozark & Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs, Arkansas is a perfect example of this. Working with Process Curiosity over 11 months, we were able to accomplish bringing visitors into the water cycle of Hot Springs National Park showcasing the nation’s oldest protected natural resource. Using clearly laid out production phases and processes, we were able to effectively create this experience while concurrently designing the ADA accessible physical installation and developing the creative storytelling from our offices in Utah.

The final product balanced maximizing guest experience with minimal regular maintenance with an easy to use interface for staff of any technological skill level. We used hardware with long lifespans and affordable replacement costs along with durable screens capable of taking a beating from very excited kids that will want to try touching the wildlife they saw on screen. After installation was completed, we trained the staff on daily operations & maintenance while sticking around for a couple days ensuring they had no major hiccups or questions which needed to be addressed in person as they got going.

That's the project you bring back to your board. One that visitors remember and your staff can run.

Brand Anthem Films

For the people who said yes before they could see it.

Your mission is a hard thing to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it yet. The board members who approved the budget, the donors who funded it, the foundations reviewing your next grant said yes on faith. A brand anthem film is how you show them the impact of that faith, before the ribbon cutting and long after.

This isn't a promotional video for your audience. It's the film you play at the annual gala, submit with the grant renewal, and send to the major donor considering what comes next. It answers the question every stakeholder is quietly asking: was this worth it? And it gives them the language to carry that answer into every conversation that follows.

We go deep before we go near a camera. Every non-profit has a specific culture, community, and reason for existing that no other organization can replicate. We find that first. It’s what we call the Lost Sauce. Then we build a film from it. The result sounds like you, not like every other cookie cutter mission video your board has sat through.

For museums launching a new exhibit, there's a version of this that captures something no outside crew can. We were in the building during design and installation. That means we can document the process, the moment the experience clicks into place, and the first visitors who step inside before anyone's told them what to feel. If we built your exhibit, we were already there.

In 2017, we led a full creative overhaul for The Root Farm, a non-profit in Sauquoit, New York, which was expanding from equine therapy into agriculture and outdoor recreation as they moved to a new facility. A brand anthem film anchored the work. In the week after launch: 45,000 views, 500 reactions, and 150 shares on Facebook, targeted to a two-county radius. After the first month it reached over 200,000 views. The result: The Root Farm is thriving today.

That's what makes the people who funded your mission proud to say they did.

Not sure what you need?

For non-profits that know their mission deserves more. They just haven't seen it done yet.

You know it's not just another fundraising video. You know it's not a brochure. There's something your mission has been wanting to say, but you just haven't found the format for it yet.

That's exactly where we start.

Some of the most interesting projects we've worked on began with a conversation that sounded a lot like this. A new exhibit that needed to be more than an exhibit. A milestone anniversary that deserved something people would actually talk about. A campaign that required a different kind of proof.

Bring us the ambition. We'll find the form.
